5 Quick, Easy & Healthy Smoothie Recipes
There are a number of different ways that you can make smoothies which are not only delicious, they are extremely nutritious. Some of these may be a bit unusual sounding, but you would be surprised with exactly how healthy eating smoothies such as this can be. Here are 5 of my favorites.
The first is more of a standard smoothie. You start with a base of 6 ounces of pure orange juice and add pineapple, mango and apricots. The amounts of these foods that you add will really depend on how thick you want the smoothie to be and according to your own particular taste. Add a helping of yogurt into the mix in order to thicken it up and add additional flavor. Drink it cold.
The second smoothie is a green smoothie, something that may take a little bit of adventure for you to try but it can be strangely delicious. My personal favorite green smoothie is 8 to 10 ounces of water, one apple, one banana and a handful of Romain lettuce. Blend it with some ice cubes and enjoy an absolutely wonderful and nutritious smoothie.
Another one of the healthy smoothie recipes, and perhaps one that takes a little bit more of an acquired taste is also a green smoothie. The real difference is that this one is made with berries instead of with fruit. You still start out with the base of water and ice cubes, adding as many berries as you can possibly include in it while still allowing it to be sipped through a straw. Throw in a few leaves of green leaf lettuce in order to add some color and a nutritional punch.
If you are really into antioxidants, here is a green smoothie that you should not be overlooking. You start with a simple base of water, apple and banana and then you add the following ingredients to it. Two spoonfuls of Chia seeds, one spoonful of hemp seeds, one spoonful of raw cocoa nibs and a helping of local honey. Not only is this a nutritious smoothie, it is also very delicious as most of the additional ingredients do not add flavor over top of the fruit.
Finally, this last smoothie is also one that is delicious and is a favorite among people who like to keep their blood going. If you suffer from body aches, this one may be able to help you to overcome them by thinning the blood naturally. You start out with a basic smoothie of one banana, along with an apple, peach or pair. Add red beets and red beet greens into the smoothie. Make sure that you don’t add too much that it overpowers the taste of the fruit. It’s a delicious smoothie that you should have one time a week in order to keep your blood flowing.
